::Our Roleplay Guidelines::
NRPR

1: These rules are jointly agreed to by the members that roleplay within this area, all outsiders that use these pages must also follow these rules or the roleplay will be viewed as invalid.

2: We agree that role play should be plausable. If it is not it will be deemed invalid.

3: This is a Gorean location though non Goreans are welcome to visit nor are tags required to be recognized as Gorean. You act Gorean you will be aknowledged as Gorean.

4: A "Capture" involves any attempted theft, kidnapping, forced subdual or improper taking of a free person or slave.

5: A "Kill" involves any attempt to mortally wound a free person, or owned slave.

6: Capture/Kill attempts may only occur on pages designated for Gorean Role-Play. Attempts made on any other pages are automatically invalid. The following pages, without limitation, are invalid places for Capture/Kill attempts, whether marked or not: All non-Gorean pages, All Gorean educational pages, All Gorean message boards, and All Real-Time Gorean pages.

7: Capture/Kill attempts may not occur in Observe.

8: Capture/Kill attempts may not occur through Instant Messages, Emails or on Message Boards.

9: Capture/Kill attempts may not occur in Private Rooms, Lifestyler rooms, Non Role Play rooms or Password-Protected Rooms.

10: People with “Gor Learning”, “Gor Observing” or similar language in their profiles are immune from Capture/Kill/Arrest attempts but may not engage in any such attempts themselves either. The moment a person that is under either the 30 days rule or observing starts roleplaying they become subject to whatever occurs in the location they are at.

11: Persons who are AFK/BRB may not be the targets of Capture/Kill attempts. But, a person who is AFK/BRB must clearly indicate that status in some visible manner, such as by turning their avatar upside down, having the words on their avatar or in their info or removing themselves to obs.

12: A person under the 30 day period may not be involved in any captures or kills on these pages.

13: Combat and captures are done in a free form turn style here. [We apply the honor system with the GM posting the results in a battle where the parties cannot determine the winner themselves.]

14: When a group is actively rping on these pages respect them and if not involved do not IM them..

15: Obs is deemed safe in these locations, we invite any who wish to watch to do so.

16: During RP if you are not a member of what is going on please show respect and move to obs, if you don't expect the rest of us to ingore you.

17: Only Gorean weapons will be recognized in battles.

18: All weapons drawn must be stated being drawn.

19: Binding cords cannot just appear out of the air, you must pull them out of someplace.

20: The person captured must state they honor it.

21: Anyone attempting to destroy the forest will be hunted.

22: In the event of long term roleplay see the section defined GM RULES below. Standard roleplay still abides by these rules but is free form interaction done by any persons residing on the server and those visiting or involved with them.

23: These rules only apply to roleplayers. A non roleplayer visiting on a roleplay page will be immune from the roleplaying rules and activities.

::Traveling::

Traveling to and from is part of plausable and valid roleplaying, to enter Lydius or any of the locations found upon our server you must post in the Chronicles section of the forum your travels.
If your seeking to enter someones home it will be expected that you take the time to travel through the city to get there and deal with being permitted entry into that home. No one should just assume you got in.
In determining how long it takes to travel from point A [using Lydius as this point] and point B [using Laura as this point} I used the equation that man walks at 3 mph on the average, a pasang is .7 miles, so man walks at roughly 4 pasangs per hour.

If a person travels 12 hours in a day, they will travel about 50 pasangs in that day on foot.

So we will safely assume on foot it takes 4 days to travel from Lydius to Laura.

I will use this as my standard for travel pages that I make. Keeping in mind this is the slowest means of travel, a tarn would be much faster, as would a wagon or a barge on the river itself, however for the sake of rping we will work with the slowest means as our base.

Thus a man walking may travel 1 page per day, on a tarn he could travel 8 a day. by wagon, or ground mount, 3 a day, by barge on the river, 4 a day down stream, 2 a day up stream.

::Page Tags Defined::

1: NRPR = Non Role Play Room. These are non roleplaying locations and no captures or combats will be allowed or deemed valid when visiting them.

2: RPR = Role Play Room. These require a person be in character at all times. Use common sense when roleplaying here, if it isn't plausable it will be ruled invalid.

3: No tags = These places are wilderness areas and you enter them at your own risk.

4: NCZ = No Capture Zone. These rooms are deemed safe from any capture attempts, exception of unowned slaves that are not safe anywhere they are.

5: NKZ = No Kill Zone. These rooms are deemed safe from attempts to kill.

6: PCZ = Patrol Capture Zone. These rooms one maybe captured if there are enough men to activate the tags, in most cases it requires 2 people to make them active, otherwise they are deemed NC rooms.

7: PKZ = Patrol Kill Zone. These rooms one maybe Killed if there are the right number of people to activate the tags. Read PC above..

::GM RULES::

1: The GM is the person that sets the background and story line for the given roleplay.

2: When ready the GM will post in the room roleplay has begun. At this point any chit chat or bantering is to stop in the room, after this point anything you type in the room is what your character is actually doing or saying. People showing up that are not involved can be spoke to in im's or ignored, the players choice.

3: If you need to say something to everyone that is not part of the roleplay do it in brackets to define being not of the roleplay, this prevents confusion during the roleplaying.

4: Once the roleplay has begun do not IM the GM, the GM is the one that will be saving text to post under the Chronicles section of the board and they need to focus on the roleplay going on.

5: When the session is over the GM will post the roleplay has ended. At this point everyone can talk freely and guest are welcome to enter the room.

6: On going roleplay can be done on set evenings each week when all parties agree to being available. This does not mean people can't roleplay during the week, it just means the story line roleplay is set to occur per agreement of those involved.

7: The GM posts the text from chat and will write to the story line thread, during the week members may post behind the scene posts to add flavor to the story, they are also encouraged to post any text from in chat encounters.

8: Goreans that could not actually be there, but are observing from obs, cannot use anything they watch as common knowledge they have gained. If you weren't able to actually be in the room and actively involved then there is no way your character would have any idea what was going on. We encourage others sitting in obs and enjoying what we are doing, but please respect the fact if your from another location, odds are unless you were sent a letter or were directly contacted by a member of the roleplay, you would not know about the events happening at the moment.This does not mean if IM'd you can just hop into things, to be invited in there must be a plausable action to have lead to your becoming aware what is going on.

8: There will be 2 sections on the city forum, one for the story line and one refered to as the Chronicles, this is for in chat text to be posted that goes with the story line being written.

9: NO GOD MODING IN THE STORY LINE! Any actions [battles, traveling, captures...] MUST be done within chat itself and the text posted to the Chronicles section of the board. You can post details of what is going on in the spot you are currently at, and your inner thoughts, but anything that requires another roleplayers actions has to be done by that roleplayer.
For example: This is a valid post
I sat in my chair watching the guards moving about outside my window. I stroked my girls hair as I pondered what lay ahead of us now.
This is a invalid post.
I saw Morbius leave the city, a sly look upon his face, for a moment it appeared he had something hidden in his cloak.
You may also use the story line to send notes and letters to people in other locations of Gor.

10: The posts to the board are for reading pleasure and roleplay enhancement only. Those that read the story may not use this as in character knowledge, to know what is happening your character must learn of it in chat and through valid roleplaying.

11: Our roleplay allows a person to create a NPC nick to be used within chat. This nick is a temporary nick only made for the purpose of the roleplay and as such does not qualify as dualing. A NPC in this case may do harm to a player character.[This does not over ride city laws that may deem differently.]

Above all have fun, roleplay should be plausable and enjoyable.
*These are Role Play rules, they are not City Laws.*
