I feel that we all are being insensitive to those that these postings will effect. First off , Beast did openly admit he was a male trapped in a female's body. However He lives His life as a male in real as He has been a male online. Beast's relentless service to Gor (ie: web pages .. signatures.. games online as well as many other supportive ways for Gor should speak for his dedication to Gor and its community. ( I am proud of you Beast!) This man has accepted any and all as they came to him for whom they portrayed online , Never did Beast question thier character unless they placed doubt in his mind. At no time did his real time become a issue till a slave brought it to the attention to this board . Seems to me, someone should question this she urt's loyalty as a friend as well as that of a slave. Then there is a post about Noak. I do not feel that a female should cross the line of gender online simply because it can be misleading and can be upsetting to slave to find out that the man she has fell in love with is a female. So yes this gender bending can promote problems eventually to real if a slave choses to take it to the real level with a female swap over Master. OK with this said I know many of you will say that is the double standard. It isn't really. What has been said is that Beast is a female who lives life as a male online and offline. His behavior is that of a Male. Noak is accused of being known as the former Panther Girl and Arian Ubara Shalaa who lives as a female in real and is accused of roleplaying online as a Male. My question is this ... If this is roleplay ..What does a roleplayer's real life have to do with who they portray online? As long as they stick to thier role what has that to do with who they are in real ? If your a Master, I am sure many of you do not go out in the clock of night and steal women from thier beds to enslave them as they did in the books. I am sure many of you do not ride tarns nor do you kill someone because they dont do your bidding as a slave. My point is that all of us have lost the essense of Gor online. Roleplay is about the roles in the books. Not what gender they are in real. As long as that person is true to their role thier real gender should not be a issue. my next question is ... How would any of you feel if you had your personal real time life was drug out to be scrutinized by all Goreans here on the boards? Many of you may not like them but then again they are just thoughts of a Freewoman, Lady.Kamira |

replied on: 11/4/2003 1:16:07 PM I would like to ask a question to the judgmental people who get offended by the thought of a person playing a role of the opposite gender. If in real life I have a leg amputated, does that mean I have to play the role of a Gorean Panther Girl amputee? I for one have no problems with one portraying a male role when they are female, or vise versa. This is ROLE PLAY people. In Gor we are playing a role. Im sorry if people are offended by the fact that in real time I dont live in the forest, and I dont really shave the heads of males, or even capture males for that matter... Enough on that. On the other hand, a problem does come into play if the said person playing a role opposite their real life gender spills over into someones real life feelings, For example, a slave wants real time and submits to a "Master" whom she thinks is a male. She falls hard for the male; all the while the person keeps their mouth shut as to their gender. This is wrong, I guess my point is, as long as no one is hurt by the action of "gender bending" I give my applause to anyone who can pull of the role. We can be good Gorean Role players and still be aware of peoples feelings. |
